Throughout the month of October, the state associations of Region III conducted their annual state workshops.  Read on to see all the amazing work the members of our region are doing!

MIRSA (Michigan):

  • The 2023 MIRSA State Workshop hosted at Western Michigan University was a resounding success. A strong sense of connection and engagement was felt throughout the workshop which contributed to the theme of REConnect (Reimagine, Engage, Connect). Some of the highlights included doubling the number of attendees from the 2022 State Workshop (84 people), establishing a new pre-conference pickleball tournament tradition, raising $664 in the Silent Action for MIRSA scholarships, and of course all of the learning and networking that took place.

ORSA (Ohio):

  • ORSA was held at Youngstown State University October 26-27, 2023.  150 attendees were in attendance and able to choose from 17 educational sessions over the course of 5 time slots.  A keynote by former Ohio State football coach and Youngstown State President Jim Tressel provided some great energy and set colleagues in the right frame of mind for growth opportunities over the two days.  Plenty of networking opportunities, social engagement, and discussion with vendors took place.  Scholarship dollars were raised over the course of the workshop to help give back to both professional and student attendees of future ORSA workshops.  Plans for the 50th state workshop at the University of Dayton in October of 2024 are already underway.

IRSA (Indiana):

  • IRSA was held at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on October 5-6, 2023 in Terre Haute, Indiana.   The 43 attendees were able to choose from multiple education sessions and roundtable experiences and participate in the casino night social.  Over $1400 was raised for scholarship opportunities

IIRSA (Illinois):

  • Coming Soon

WIRSA (Wisconsin):

  • WIRSA was held at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on October 11-13, 2023, in Madison, Wisconsin.  The 158 attendees (49 of them students) were treated to multiple educational and social opportunities.  There was representation from 19 Wisconsin institutions and 1 Iowas institution.
